So far, in preparation for post-graduation, I have been trying to make up my mind about which university I would like to attend next fall. I have also recently submitted my financial aid application and sent in my parents signature in order to fully qualify for financial aid. I have also been applying for various scholarships to widen my opportunity of receiving any kind of financial assistance. Another important deadline to keep in mind is the REAP super scholarship, it hasn’t been talked about yet but I can feel the date coming closer as the school year comes to an end. I’ll have to gather all of my best writing skills in order to compose a scholarship worthy essay to receive more money than what I have accumulated with my grades. Three months may seem like a long time, but for what has to be done in those three months, it is a relatively short amount of time. My friends are starting to count down the days for graduation, meanwhile I’m counting down days for deadlines, some of them fail to realize that even though we are seniors, we still need to complete all of our classes.
I am not so nervous about graduation, I’m nervous about AP exams in May. Finishing all my classes on time is my priority at the moment, but the time I have available to myself isn’t enough. I am struggling between balancing my time for both of my AP classes and my other 4 classes. At times I feel like all my teachers come together and plan a week of hell for all us students; they all assign projects and EOT’s for the same week, introduce new measurement topics and assign new work to add on to the late work. Schedules become so complicated during the last few months of school. Graduation doesn’t scare me, what scares me is what comes after graduation; the real world. I still haven’t decided which school I will be attending, I’m waiting on my financial Aid packages to make my final decisions. There’s an endless list of all the things I still have to do before graduation, and a limited amount of time. Luckily, there is a time and place for everything and if all goes according to plan I will have time to spare. I having been working very hard to get all my assignments turned in on time, but that doesn’t seem to be enough, the list of things to do doesn’t shrink, the items on it get replaced.
I am looking forward to the day where I get to leave and go off to college. Even though I will miss my family, I am looking forward to the college experience and to invest time into something that will benefit me and help me reach my goals. I am also very thankful for all of the people who helped me get here where I am today. All of my teachers in one way or another contributed to my graduation.
