About Me
My name is Jimena Meza-Espinoza. I am seventeen years old and I am an AVID student at Lindsay High school. I was born on June 5th 1998 in Lindsay California. I've lived in Lindsay since I was born and I attended Washington Elementary from Kindergarten through my eight grade year. Because I have lived in Lindsay my entire life, I have become an active member in my society by participating in events like the Orange Blossom Festival representing our local schools as well as being a volunteer for the after school program my freshman year. Living in Lindsay has also allowed me to become well acquainted with my learning facilitators throughout the years.
My goal is to graduate high school in the top ten of my class with a good GPA. I also wish to be the first, from my immediate family, to graduate from a four year college. My junior year I went on a field trip with my AVID class, we went to CSU Stanislaus, I fell in love with the campus and what it had to offer. What I liked the most about the campus was that it had a daycare center, this daycare center is open for students with children and others. What interested me about this daycare was that the students who are studying child development or who wish to become a teacher have the opportunity to observe the children in the day care and learn about their behavior. My dream job is to become a middle school teacher and give back to my community and help students the same way many great teachers helped me. I had many great teachers throughout the years whom helped me overcome most of my obstacles and become a well rounded student. I have put in all my effort in order to graduate at the top of my class and not become another non-graduating Hispanic statistic.
